Mansa Devi temple is located on top of a hill, called the Bilwa Parvat. The temple can be reached by the ropeway or one can take the normal trekking route to the top. The top of the hill gives you an excellent view of Haridwar. The temple is surrounded by many shops and you have to follow the line to have a glimpse of the Goddess. The trolley ropeway route to Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi, is very exciting.
 
Temple of Chanda Devi

Nestled in forest clad hilltop of Neel Parvat at Haridwar the temple of Chandidevi temple is an ancient temple situated North India. The temple is about six kilometers from Hardwar in the state of Uttranchal. The city of Hardwar is a Hindu pilgrimage center and is home to main centers of worship Chandidevi and Mayadevi temple.

Built to honour the incarnation Goddess Parvati the deity was installed by Shri Adishankaracharya in the eight century. Goddes Parvati Chanda Devi is said to appear here in order to slay the demon kings Shumbh and Nishumbh and their army chiefs. Chanda Devi temple is right at the place where Goddess Parvati as Chanda Devi incarnate rested. The temple is also known as Seedhapeeth as one’s wishes are fulfilled here. Every year thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit this temple.
The temple at present was renovated by the King of Kashmir Suchat Singh in the year nineteen twenty nine. It is a place for experience communion with God and generates peace and calm in mind and body.

 
Other places of interest
Besides Hardwar other places of holy importance are Rishikesh, Sapt Rishi Ashram, Mahadev temple and Chilla Wildlife sanctuary.
 
How to reach Chanda Devi?
It is easy to reach the temple by ropeway in few minutes else one can climb up the steep mountain. The rope way is situated near the Gauri Shankar temple about three kilometers from Har-ki-Pauri at Haridwar. Haridwar is about six km. One can reach here by public transport or personal car. Other modes of transportations are also available.
